Over 11 million Americans pay more than half their salaries for housing.
Based on the accepted standard for housing affordability, housing costs should be no more than 30% of household income. That means 1 out of 4 renters are having to choose between paying for shelter and paying other life essentials like healthcare, food, and utilities.
Our mission is to tackle the Affordable Housing Crisis by building opportunities one house at a time.
Communities across the country are facing affordable housing shortages. East to West Development Corporation understands this complex industry and recognizes the ‘call to action’ in seeking to make inroads toward a solution to this widespread social dilemma.

According to the Occupational Employment Statistics (OES) Survey Results, the first quarter for 2018 revealed that the Mean Annual Wage (for all occupations) in LA County was just over $57,000. Based on the established housing affordability standard of 30%, an individual earning this annual wage can only afford a monthly housing expense of $1,425. The average rent for an apartment in Los Angeles is $2,265. The problem is clear and this is where we will start.
